Healthy Eating (Ep1): Vanilla cake without butter!



Read me for the full recipe!!

This is a recipe that i made up myself with lots of help from books and internet research! It may not be the best recipe, but you could still try it out at home and it should tasted good. Let me know if you tried this at home?

½ cup milk
1 cup plain flour
1½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 dinner spoon salt (As seen in the video, don’t put in a full dinner spoon of salt. This is optional!)
3 eggs
¼ cup of vanilla sugar
½ cup of granulated sugar

1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
2. In a small bowl, sift plain flour with baking power and salt. Set aside.
3. Separate the egg white and yolk. In a bowl, at high speed, mix egg white until thick and gradually add in sugar. Then add in the yolks, mix until mixture is smooth and well blended, about 5 mins.
4. Heat through the milk in a small pan until bubbling at edge.
5. At low speed, blend in flour mixture until smooth. Add warm milk, beating until combined. Immediately pour batter into ungreased cake pan(recommend 9-inch).
6. Bake 30mins minimum, just bake until a toothpick comes out clean.
Wait until cool to be eaten, I like to eat it with condensed milk/custard sauce.
